UK landed cost calculator
Find the true cost of each unit you import: freight, customs duty, import VAT and currency fees included. Then see what you actually make on each sales channel.
How it's worked out
- Goods value in £ = quantity × unit price ÷ exchange rate, plus your FX fee.
- Customs value = goods + freight + insurance to the UK border. Duty = customs value × duty rate.
- Import VAT = 20% of (customs value + duty + clearance and UK delivery). If you're VAT registered you normally reclaim it, so it isn't counted in landed cost. If you're not, it's a real cost.
- Profit = selling price − VAT on the sale (if registered) − channel fees − landed cost − packaging − postage.
This is a planning tool, not customs advice. Duty depends on the commodity code and country of origin, and some origins qualify for 0% under UK trade agreements. Channel fees change, so check them against your own account. Nothing you type here leaves your browser.
